Title: Receptionist
Reports to: Pastor & Paulist Superior
FLSA Status: Regular, Part time, Non-Exempt
Salary: $18.07 hourly

The Old Saint Mary’s Cathedral and Chinese Mission, a historic landmark, served by the Paulist Fathers since 1894, is seeking a part-time, non-exempt Receptionist. As the point of "first contact," this position professionally provide a welcoming presence to everyone who contacts the parish office either in person or by phone. It is critical that this employee supports the goal of ensuring efficient operation of the Parish Office through the proficient use of secretarial and administrative skills.

Major Areas of Responsibilities

Receives and routes all incoming calls and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner.
Schedule Mass intention requests; handle money, scheduling, Mass cards & posting in the bulletin & communication for the liturgy.
Registers new parishioners and maintains parishioner’s record in database including weekly donation postings.
Responsible for creating, printing, and publishing weekly church bulletin; writing, designing, editing and collaboration with staff for updated news to post.
Record sacramental information and prepare certificates.
Handles bulk mailings, address labels, photocopying,
Maintain the parish calendar: funerals, weddings, events, facility usage etc. and book guests at discretion of Paulist superior.
Receives deliveries and mail; distributes mail.
Prepare weekly deposit slips for money & donations received at the front office.
Perform other clerical duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong computer skills with proficiency and experience with Microsoft Word, Publisher, database, and calendar software
Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, telephone skills
Detail oriented and possesses excellent organizational skills.
Possess excellent interpersonal skills and be able to interface with diverse levels of parishioners, visitors, and staff.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in administrative role & previous experience in Catholic environment preferred and /or with understanding of Catholic faith.
High School education.
